The research question

How are muscle recruitment, fatigue and functional movement affected by the muscular disease?

A non-invasive functional assessment for myopathies and other muscular diseases using surface EMG and movement measurement. It does not replace needle EMG, genetics, laboratory testing or biopsy when those are clinically required.

ParticipantsPeople with a diagnosed or specialist-evaluated muscular disease.
Minimum sampleIndividual clinical assessment: N = 1. Research cohorts: sample size defined by the study design.
DurationProtocol-defined individual assessment and longitudinal monitoring.

How this study is executed.

The protocol below reflects the service definition developed for Neuro Garage. Final details are confirmed before execution.

01

Define disease-specific functional question.

02

Record rest and standardized contraction tasks.

03

Add graded or fatigue tasks when safe.

04

Measure functional movement and compensatory strategy.

05

Repeat longitudinally when monitoring is required.

Typical outputs

What this specific study can produce

Decisions supported

What the client can change with the evidence

The study is designed to translate observed behavior into concrete operational, people, design or risk-management decisions.

01Support specialist functional assessment
02Target rehabilitation
03Monitor fatigue and movement change
Scientific configuration

The method follows the question

Technology is selected because it is scientifically appropriate for the research objective, not because a device must be used. Santiago configures the study scope, stimuli, participant flow and measurement path before execution.
