The research question

Can congruent visual and motor feedback alter phantom-limb pain, body perception and movement experience across repeated sessions?

A VR rehabilitation pathway for phantom limb pain using virtual representation of the missing limb and motor intention. Residual-limb EMG can be added when it supports the interaction.

ParticipantsPeople with phantom limb pain under pain-management or rehabilitation care.
Minimum sampleIndividual clinical assessment: N = 1. Research cohorts: sample size defined by the study design.
DurationRepeated VR rehabilitation sessions with pre/post pain measures.

Technology configuration

Measurement follows the task

The technology path shown here is the approved structure for this service. The exact protocol is configured around the research question, environment and participant flow.

01 · CoreVR

Virtual limb representation and motor-feedback exercises.

02 · OptionalEMG

Residual muscle activation for intention or interaction.

Typical protocol · Health

How this study is executed.

The protocol below reflects the service definition developed for Neuro Garage. Final details are confirmed before execution.

01

Establish pain and body-perception baseline.

02

Configure the virtual limb representation.

03

Run motor imagery/intended movement with congruent virtual feedback.

04

Measure pain and embodiment response before and after each session.

05

Track longitudinal change across sessions.

Typical outputs

Scientific configuration

The method follows the question

Technology is selected because it is scientifically appropriate for the research objective, not because a device must be used. Santiago configures the study scope, stimuli, participant flow and measurement path before execution.
